Default Allroad new timing belt, new sounds??

Just had my timing belt etc. components replaced at 102K miles, I have owned the car since 64K miles and has run like a dream.. Now after timing belt change a high pitched whine on start up and a clacking sound down in engine somewhere, not clicking like valves more of a clacking. what could it be and what did they (shop) screw up?? I want to go in with intelligent info... Thanks Tim

Don't know about the clacking, but for the whine search "SAI" or "secondary air injection".

oh man, clanking sound after timing belt change might mean that the cmashafts/crankshaft are not aligned properly = BIG Screw up.

Good to hear they're gonna tow it in. Hope no serious damage has been done.

I was thinking along the lines of piston and/or valve damage. Any lack of power?

A lot goes into the TB and related accessory replacement, so it could be any number of things (serious or not serious)

It sounds like your indy is legitimately concerned about their work (as they should be), so hopefully they'll get you straight.
