Default 90K on the clock, 14% off sale at the dealer....so I says to the guy..

Time to quit gambling on the 6 1/2 year old battery & change the synthetic Castrol. Oh.... and my light switch is not working on the drivers door. Plus they find a bad CV boot. Me $321, Zurich (my extended warranty carrier) $700.
I go home & start to think about a timing belt. Wait,14% off (Valentine sale)!! All I have to do is make the service writer another valentine, lame but worth the effort.
So 6 hours later I get a timing belt, roller, tensioner, damper, water pump, T-stat & T-stat housing and a loaner car for......... $1578.00.
Maplewood Audi gets kudos for great service work!
And I can continue to drive it like I stole it without worrying I will break the timing belt, woohoo!

Default My switch died two months ago.

I do my own maintenance, but just out of curiosity, do they break down what they charged for labor and parts to replace that switch? If I decided to let the dealer handle it, I'd probably have Carousel do it, because I can walk home and have lunch while it's being worked on.

Default They replaced the whole latch, pn. 4B1-837-015-H,

Seems the switch must be integrated in the latch. They do not price out what my warranty pays, but it was mentioned the latch was 300 bucks alone.
