Is 6-MT reverse gear synchro'd?
Can anyone tell me if the REVERSE gear on an '02 6-MT is synchro'd? That is, if I start it and let it idle for maybe 5 sec then push in the clutch and move it into reverse, should it slip in with very little effort (synchro'd), or should I feel the gear teeth slowing down (since I just pushed in the clutch) until I can nudge it into gear?

no its not. As with almost all manual transmissions Its best to go into first, then reverse to get everything close to the right speeds to mesh. Just doing right to reverse can cause just a slight catch or even grind.

Wow, thanks for that tip, I never knew you were supposed to nudge unto first, first. I DID learn to nudge into SECOND before going into first at a long stoplight, though. First is difficult sometimes in my car, but second isn't.
