2011 A6 Allroad - dash dial lights - turn "off" in Auto
Strange situation - AUDI A6 Alload 2011 build 2012 delivered
ISSUE: with lights set to AUTO (normal) - when driving on a say a sunny day - then in heavy shady conditions ie building shadow - the dash speed & revs - dial illumination turns off !!!! (I have many photos)
Audi - has stated - it's correctly set up
Anyone else with this experience or suggestions - it may be a internal light sensor (wherever it is ?) - we have window tinting (this may be an issue) however, it does not make sense.
Thanks Geoff

My S4 does the same thing. I coded it to keep the instrument lights on always because I like to be able to see them when traversing a long underpass.
What they are designed to do, and unfortunately I can't figure out how to defeat this feature, is dim as the external light dims. This is to remind you that you have to turn your lights on. Apparently Audi allows it to work that way even in AUTO mode.
