04 Allroad 4.2L - MFSW Retrofit and Stereo Upgrade Question
Hi Everyone,
First time posting. I've recently purchased an 04 4.2l Allroad. I've got a few questions about it, as there's a few things I'd like to do.
The first thing is the steering wheel and radio. The car comes with a steering wheel with gear shift, but nothing to control the radio. After some research, it seems I can fit a MFSW into my car, but not without a lot of work and money. But the tutorials I've seen have been to fit a MFSW to work with a factory Audi radio with GPS/SatNav/BT etc. I do not want to do this. I want to install a double din aftermarket radio. Will this make it any easier to install a MFSW? Or will it make it harder?
Thanks in advanced

I'm going to say 'harder' although I have no experience in the retro-fit...but it is certainly worth doing if you have the skill, time and $$.
Why not go with the OE stuff for an easier install...it's pretty good but the Audi NAV units are way more expensive than the aftermarket units.

Thanks for your reply.
But after some research it seems to be a much harder task than I had thought. I thought it was a matter of buying a new steering wheel and plugging in some wires. But it looks like there's a lot more involved than that. So I think I'll leave the steering wheel and will just fit an after market radio in the car.
Thanks
