That's the thing, so many people getting hyped up by press releases stating certain claims about prices and 0-60 times. Those sub 3 second figures will be for the equivalent of the ZR-1 package and that will probably be well north of the 150K to 160K area. Granted I am hoping that this mid engine Corvette is way better than previous generations, I highly doubt that it will be comparable to other super cars that we have grown to love and admire.

That sub 3 second figure is for the base trim w/sport exhaust in the Z51 pkg (not the ZR-1). Here's a Jay Leno video with a Chevy rep and he specifically states the sub 3 second for that particular vehicle.

the rep says sub 3s 0-60 with the Z51 package, here's some more details on it https://www.motorauthority.com/news/...ckage-detailed

the chevy mag ride seems gated behind the package as well. the Z51 pkg almost seems mandatory for any car enthusiast getting one of these. I'm excited to see the final pricing and options, etc.

Chevy Dealers are also adding a 10-15k mark up for this car. So with that being said, This corvette with the Z51 package could cost close to 90-100K. Def not attainable for the masses.

Not sure I agree. The current gen Corvette Z51 pkg costs $5K. The new vehicle Z51 pkg should cost about the same. So let's say it's ~$65-67K MSRP for Z51 pkg C8 Corvette (all speculation, of course). Even if there is a $10K ADM (which won't be around for long)...that's still only $75K and a huge value compared to the vehicles this will directly compete against. Acura NSX is twice as much. Porsche 992 is 50% more for a base C2. There won't be anything that can touch this C8 Corvette for performance-to-value ratio.

Default Looks like an NSX

The new vette looks like an NSX - kind of a cheesy rip-off if you ask me...

Yeah, Im not a corvette person so I didnt realize that the Z51 package was that cheap. Looking at the indepth list of the Z51 pachage, its pretty substantial. With that being said, I went through the configuration on their website. There are a ton of add ons that can raise the overall cost but at 67-75k, thats a great value for sure.

I wonder what the cost of the car shown on the reveal is?

That's a good question. The one at the reveal looks to have the Z51 package, upgraded wheels, competition seats, contrast interior and probably has some of the exterior carbon fiber optional pieces too. I could see it being at the upper end of your range, so $75K MSRP with all of those options on it (might even push upwards of $80K MSRP if fully optioned out).

Almost all highly anticipated sports cars have ADM immediately following release (take a look at the Supra), but no one will have a problem finding one at MSRP one or two years after release. The Corvette is high volume for a sports car.
