I’m glad I happened to stumble across this old post. I literally have been debating between Daytona, Florett, and Nardo for quite some time now. I ruled out Nardo because it would not be easy to match if an unfortunate incident occurred which required paint. I had a bad experience with an old Estoril Blue M many years ago. I definitely like the Daytona, but the Manhattan grey is more to my liking which is not offered on the S5.

Regardless, I do believe Florett is the best overall choice. Mainly it shows off the body lines as others previously stated. I’m at a point in life where I am transitioning from a coupe to a sportsback. Darker colors to lighter ones. AMG’s to AWD in the winter... I think the S5 in Florett is the right one for me. At the end of the day to each their own.

Not sure what you mean on Nardo. Any competent body shop will be able to match it (and more easily than Daytona or Florett because it is non-metallic).

Unfortunately not my friend, it’s a unique color regardless. I agree that a reputable body shop could come close to matching it.

Paint isn’t difficult to match just because it is a rare color. Things like tricoats and pearls are hard to match technically because they are layered. The body shop is going to be blending any Nardo repair to spec and that’s not a challenge for them. You could go get a can of Nardo from an auto body supply store tomorrow if you wanted.

I’m by no means an expert on body paint. Mainly referring to when the paint has some mileage on it and requires a fresh coat somewhere. A pewter type color is not easy to match, I know this much.

Daytona is not a metallic — it’s a Mica — but I cannot speak to Florett.

Sliver would be by far the most unique. I never see sliver S5's.

I believe Daytona is pearlescent.
