RS5 wheel fitment stress!
Hello all, first timer here and looking forward to joining in the conversation!
So, three weeks in and I absolutely love the car, but. I can’t leave it alone so the first mod is a new set of wheels!
first dilemma was stay with 20 or go up to 21? The decision was to stay with a 20 to maintain a slightly larger profile and save a few bucks.
this is where things got out of hand.... one piece forged custom wheels, multi piece custom wheels, or off the shelf “flow forged” wheels became the question of the day, ok several days, the cost range is insane from 3-4 hundred to several thousand dollars per wheel!!!
I settled on flow forged and set my sights on fitment..... now it gets complicated. First off, no one seems to know what will really fit.
a few questions to answer at this stage. Will I lower the car? Well, I’m not against it but I’m not interested in the super low look so it would be mild at best just to “close the gap”
anyway, I found the wheel I really like, the Ferrada FR8 and now we are at the finish line.... ohhh, wait.
20X10 or 20X11 ? And with a 285/30-20 tire
the question is, I like the concave style of the 20X11 but I am not a fan of the wheel sticking out of the wheel arch and not a big fan of the stretched tire look...
so so I turn to you guys for opinions, advice, or just a knock on the head over the whole thing.... let er rip!

The fitment is definitely not well understood. I bought 9.5" et 35 and I think it needs a 10mm spacer in the back at least. Unfortunately the wheels I wanted didnt come in et25

After doing some math and measuring on the car we decided on the 20X11 with +28 offset with a 295/30/20 tire. If our calculations are correct, this should bring the wheel out about .875 in. from stock and fill the wheel well nicely with an aggressive concave style. The tire is .500 taller and should fit the wheel nicely.
The wheels should be in Friday and I have an appt. to install Sat. so with a little luck we should be good !
I will post some pics once we get them on the car.

The RS5 hasn't been out long enough to really have a great idea of the fitment limits of different wheels/tires. That said, a 20x9.5 wheel with a 20mm offset and stock sized tires will be pretty much guaranteed to fit and will bring the tire 13mm closer to the fender edge.

I’m not planning any track day racing so the added weight isn’t really a big concern, although it will be interesting to see what the difference is. I will put both on a scale and report back.
