Default RS5 Front Plate Removal

Been working on it all day, but for the life of me I can’t figure out how to remove the front plate bracket on my RS5. I got the two torx screws out but can’t figure out how to undo the clips. Anyone have any pointers?

There are (4) clips behind that snap into the honeycomb, you can feel them. The top ones I was able to use my finger to pop them out the bottom I used a small paintbrush to help unclip them.

I had the same issue as it didnt seem connected the same way others on here (based on the directions I searched). If I recall, mine slid to one side or the other (or maybe up?) and then popped out with some force. I can check for sure when I get home, but I do recall it took way more force than I expected.

Sorry, I did mine literally the day I brought mine home last fall, so a little foggy on the exact steps.

Having the same issue removing my RS5 Front license plate holder. It just won’t come off. Can someone please post a photo of the clips? Need to figure out how they snap on/off. Many thanks.

So I had a little bit off a tough time as well and then figured it out. I was pulling and obviously didn't want to break the grille. Here is a pic I found for you. As you can see the clips are hooked over the grille. You do have to kind of unhook them.

Thank you, that’s very helpful. So basically, pulling will not work. Has to be lifted? Are there 4 of those?

For the RS5 grille... once this license plate bracket is off, is there a filler piece? Or is it good to go once you unclip?

...i don’t see one here..

From what I've seen and experienced, no fillers available. There will be holes where the 2 screws were mounted. I ended up picking up 2 smaller and shorter black screws from my local hardware store to hide it.

There is no filler piece, it's just two minor holes in the honeycomb grille that are barely visible.

Can anyone take a picture of their grill closeup after the front plate has been taken off?

Want to see how it looks with the holes remaining.
