Puddle lights: Install for new members.
See this if you're going to install the puddle lights/lamps. It really is that simple, might take 10 minutes to install both sides.
Note: The lights he installed ARE NOT OEM, he says the lights loose brightness rather quickly, the Audi OEM lamps do not lose brightness, they are a high quality lamp with a metal heatsink, Made in Germany, and will probably last the life of the car. If you do the puddle lamps, get the Audi OEM lights, you will not regret it.

To follow up on @synergize post about Audi OEM puddle lights; this is what the genuine Audi puddle lights look like, with the large aluminum heat sink on the rear of the puddle light assembly:
Genuine Audi Puddle lights
The Projection That Results
Non-OEM Purchased From Amazon
As synergize said — they are very low quality. They were dim and very unfocused from the time they were installed. In this case, I got what I paid for . . .

That's a great comparison John. This was the first mod I did to my car and I still enjoy the lamps as do other people when they notice them! Go OEM or don't even bother with the lamps.

I'm super happy that my car had them standard. They are completely unnecessary and yet such a nice touch every time I enter my car.

I would say shop around for the OEM puddles and you'll find them cheaper than dealer prices.
I agree they are completely unnecessary, but they do not fail to attract attention when people see those sharp rings on the floor.
And if you are wondering what to do with your old white led puddle lights. Just put some Red LED modules into them and reuse them as door edge Red lights. You'll need a splitter cable to power both from the puddle light.
