Audi is not comfortable with any power changing mods. If the aftermarket parts seller claims it adds power it can void the powertrain warranty. You may get dealers that overlook them on routine maintenances or unrelated repairs but dont assume youll get the same treatment if they find a catastrophic failure during one of these visits.

Id take my car to a dealer bone stock on each and every visit if you want to ensure an intact powertrain warranty

There must be proof that a modification has direct correlation to the vehicle's issue in order to be questioned.

I have never received complaints from drivers stating their dealers gave them grief or voided warranty for either our intakes or our exhausts.

But the reality is that they simply deny a 15k dollar engine claim and then youd take them to court trying to convince them that a performance part you installed didnt alter the oem performance and contribute. I agree it would have to be a really bad design to be the cause but i wouldnt want to pay several thousand dollars in attorneys and expert witness fees to go against audi engineers

There have been published cases of dealerships entering td1 on intakes and exhausts. Its rare but it can happen. Takes 20 minutes to swap out and thats what id do if a warranty meant that much to me

Josh, Can you provide a link to the piggyback for a 2019 RS5? I can't find it on your site. I want to research the whole setup. Thanks.

Hey, D. It was an ABT pig, IIRC. Car had it on prior to coming to our facility.

Hey Josh - longtime AWE customer here. I think the point is based on what you said above: you tested the upgrade on the car with a piggyback to ensure the new mod isn’t a bottleneck and doesn’t diminish performance. Some guys who are not wanting to do a piggyback might go for an intake and would want to ensure it isn’t a bottleneck on a more stock setup. Being close to pulling the trigger on an RS5 SB, I would likely be one of those people. Any updated info you could provide in the future related to how this performs in an otherwise stock car would be great. Then we know the potential as we add other mods. Looks pretty too! Thx, Kent

Hi, K. Yep, we tested the unit on a vehicle that was pushing higher-than-stock boost levels, and it prevailed just fine. Stock boost levels will be no problem, either. It's all in the name of making the tubo(s) happy.
