Where I can find the oil specifications / requirements for the 3.0T engine? Owner's manual seems no help.

I use to use the Edge Professional LL IV FE 0W20 Engine Oil but it's currently unavailable from GermanOEM.ca and they state it has been replaced by GE600201QDSP. So I would like to double check everything.

Two excellent oils are Liqui Moly Top Tech 6200 and Total Quartz INEO Long Life Synthetic...both in 0w20 and VW 508/509 approved and "green in color" incase the dealer checks your oil.

Other oils that meet VW 508/509:

Motul SPECIFIC 508 00 509 00 0W-20

As rs5and12e noted, the oil specification is VW 508 00, which is available from several brands. Not every SAE 0W-20 will be VW 508 00 spec, so check.

Castrol developed this oil spec with VAG (read Audi here, as they developed the engines this spec is used in). What seems to happen is that the OEM development partner gets a period of exclusive supply for any new oil type. So in the case of the EA888/EA839 B-cycle engines using VW 508 00, by example, the oil used at production and also post-production OEM oil was Castrol made. The current retail name for this is Edge Professional LL IV FE 0W20.

Castrol no longer have the exclusive OEM contract for VW 508 00 and haven't since 2019 IIRC. I don't know who the current OEM supplier is, but it isn't Castrol. Your GE600201QDSP number is just the part number for a VW/Audi OEM VW 508 00 retail package. Either will be on spec for your B9 S5.
