OIL Change 1000 miles
Any RS5 owners opt to change their oil after 1000 miles? The Audi service manager said no need until 10,000 first scheduled service. I bought Audicare but don't think i want to use up 1 of my services for an oil change now. If at all, I was going to do it myself.

I did, and then again at 5k.

Not a bad idea to change the oil/filter after 1,000 miles. BMW requires it after 1,200 miles for their M models. Some other OEMs do as well for their performance lines.
And if you're going to DIY, that would keep costs down.
I'm at 600 miles and also plan to change the oil at 1,000 miles. I did not buy Audi Care, but did plan to use the 1 free dealer oil change for this 1,000 mile change. Then I'll be doing DIY afterwards at every 5,000 miles. Probably a bit of overkill but I prefer to change out the oil frequently.

So i know there was another thread on this. I ended up having it done and sent it out to blackstone. The factory does put in "Break In" oil in the car. Its roughly a 5W35. Of course i just got a call from my service rep (he was curious about the report as he's never seen one) and they put in 0W20, so they want me to come back in Friday for them to put in 0W30.

The sticker under the hood states it is 0w30. I am pretty sure it's Castrol Edge synthetic to meet the VW specs
