Need a good tire recommendation: '19 RS5
Can someone please point me in the right direction. Needing tires for some new wheels and having trouble deciding.
I have a 2019 RS5 with dynamic plus so it will go up to 174 mph. Currently the stock wheels are sitting on Continental SportContact 6's (Link) and I haven't really had any issues yet (driven in the wet/dry/hot and cold).
My wheel guy recommended Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 (Link) but I found out they're only rated to 168mph. Would I be fine if I chose to make a full speed run and briefly get it up to top speed? Or would you guys recommend sticking with the SportContact 6's which are rated up to 186mph but are more of a track/high performance street tire?
This is my Daily Driver, btw.

Your wheel guy made a good recommendation and I'm sure they'll be fine for the purposes you intend to use them for. I'm assuming you'll be getting 285 width tires too since your RS5 can clear them easily. All season tires are always a plus.
I have had the DWS 06 on multiple cars (including my B9 S5 Sportback) and liked them. They seem to be nail magnets though so get Road Hazard like coverage.
I recently switched to Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires and I like them even more. Better response and handling, stiffer sidewalls (more firm in a good way). They are also Y speed rated, compared to the W rating on the Continental tires.
You should look into them. Good luck!

Michelin A/S 3+ would be my choice/vote as well. I'm running them on my A5 based on the experience I had with them on a Golf R. No complaints. Great tires.

And yes I'm going 285/30/20

Sorry. I accidentally mixed the rating of the 275/30/20 Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 tire with the same size of the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus.
I corrected it now.

The A/S 3+ is a great tire, some say just about as good as the old PSS tires. I see that you are flashing your RS5 with the APR tune, if you want to get the absolute max out of it then the PS4S summer tire is the way to go over the all seasons. With you being in Austin it would be fine during the winters there I would think. Just don't drive in freezing rain and what not!
