Default Front Plate Opinion?

Will the color attract too much attention from the gendarmes to avoid putting a front plate on?

Depends where you live; where you park; your driving “style”.

I live in South Jersey and have not run a front plate for the 4 years I’ve had my car. I do not drive or park in cities; I’m not a lane changer without using turn signals; I don’t drive at more than about 10 to 15 mph above the speed limit (conditions permitting) — So I’m not on the LEO’s radar for any of those reasons let alone a no front plate.

As always — YMMV!

Fort Worth Texas, not a problem for me I think until I get out of the metro on a road trip on I-20 where the local yokels like to revenue.

It depends. My RS 5 is Misano Red and I've been driving without a front plate for a year and a half. Never even received a second glance from a police officer. I've even been pulled over to routine "drunk driving check" traffic stops and they haven't said anything and they approached from the front of the vehicle so they would have seen there's no plate. However, all that said, it depends on the individual officer and your jurisdiction. What may be OK in one area may not fly in another.

Every time I read these conversations I am thankful to live in a rear plate only state. That is a really nice color, BTW.

We must run a front plate in my state (they will ticket without one) but you can cover the plate with a very dark cover, makes no sense at all (but I like it).

No need to give the authorities a reason to pull you over though.
I’ll stick with a front plate….

I've found it to be more the State Troopers who have an issue with it than local LEOs.

For the Trooper reason alone, I only run a front plate, when I’m headed outside of DFW. Plus, if you someone how get pulled over in Dallas-proper you must really doing something wrong. They don’t even pull over paper tagged Altimas. Sto n sho works well.
