Do the majority of you guys drive in S?
Im coming up on a yr of ownership w/ my 18 S5. After acquiring I rarely opted for S mode, but pushed myself to use it more often as the time went on. It took a few days for me to realize the level at which this car transforms in this mode. 🤭 The shifting is so much better, it also feels much quicker. In addition to the enhanced exhaust note and taking care of the engine on/off feature which is not to my liking. Im sure there are other things which I am not aware of.
It almost feels like a bit of a sin not driving in Sport. Of course there are exceptions with regard to passengers. The MPG drops significantly which is to be expected. I cant think of any other reasons why not to. 🤔

When I had the S4 and S5 I never drove in D (even in traffic). The transmission logic in D issue absolutely terrible. Now with the RS5 D is tolerable only because of the increased power, but even that I throw in Dynamic most of the time. It's amazing how a lazy transmission can make or break the driving experience.

I almost forgot; use Sport Mode 75% of the time.

For $40 you can install the *** kill switch behind the actual switch in front of the cupholders, time to install 10 minutes, best mod so far and it works flawlessly. Never need to press the *** switch again, totally worth it. https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...and-15-minutes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KB0Z1hSM74o
Note: Paid $40 not $60

D / S & manual, I use them all. Keeps me engaged in the driving experience.
My hand is always on the shifter. If I'm in D and want instant accel, just a quick flip to S. Going from D to S when catching slower traffic on the expressway is a great way to slow down. This often prevents the need to press the brake pedal. Also puts me in a good position for a quick (and rare) right lane pass for those drivers who....[insert your pet peeve here].
