Default Discontinuing Google Earth?!?!

My six month Prime Connect or whatever they call it trial expires in a couple days. I was trying to figure out if I'd actually miss anything once it expired or if the $499 is worth it. In the fine print I read "Google Earth™ features will not be available after December 2020 for MY2018 and older vehicles." Seriously? That's really the only function I wanted to keep!

Let it expire and see, how you do. A lot of the PRIME features just got enabled for free (locking car from the app, etc). You'll still need PRIME for Google Earth/POI search, weather, etc. The discontinuation has been known for 2-3 years now.

Google Earth and Traffic were the only features I used with regularity.

You can (mostly) get both with Carplay or Android Auto for 'free'. There is almost no good reason to get Audi Connect at this point.

The fact that you have to pay for traffic alerts is a travesty.

Still haven't figured out the value of Google Earth beyond the wow factor.

I have had it It does not always work properly and sometimes no good at all Very costly and have not seen why they think it is worth what the cost is.Way out of line for price.
I will not renew. Unless you use for business to have internet in your car ..I have had numerous issues with the GPS in the Q5 ..If you have a cell phone It is not very useful.. I can think of much better ways to waste my money.

Can you lock and unlock your Audi now without a subscription thru the myAudi app?

I tried it, and the other online features a few times, and felt that they weren't worth what Audi wanted for the service, so I just let the trial expire. If I need to find a place that's not in the regular map, I'll just pull over and look it up on Google Maps.
