Ask Navman what 1316 does for you......if I recall, you are able to get unlimited map updates (I think). I think I asked that question several yrs ago and he said it was for unlimited map updates. But they are not free. You can get those map updates from him at a much lower cost vs dealer. But confirm with him, he answers questions promptly.

Can anyone explain, or show, what the most recent updated maps look like? Or explain what enhancement, other than the obvious street/sign/speed updates/corrections, the update provides? I like to keep things up to date, but I’m on the fence based on my limited use of the MMI nav vs. Google/Apple/Waze so I’m looking for an excuse to convince myself to do it.

Thanks all!

If you are used to the Carplay/AA maps, then all MMI maps will look dated.

Default THREAD UPDATE:

THREAD UPDATE:

In several earlier posts in this thread I outlined using The NavMan service to “upgrade the MMI” to allow updated maps to be installed via his web site with the genuine Audi Map Service files.

Last week I ordered the “2024 / 2025 Map” SD card and I received it Tuesday and installed it yesterday.

The only “burp” I encountered: they sent (2) SD cards: 1 marked MMI & 1 marked MAPS. They provided a link to the installation instructions (very clear and pictures showing what the MMI screen would display as you progressed through the installation. The issue I had was I had already installed the MMI upgrade to remove the Audi installed map update limit last November. Turns out that I did not need to go through the MMI SD card install. Once I figured that out, I proceeded to do the standard Map Upgrade that we used to do 4 or 5 years ago.

The result was with about 30 minutes my maps were updated to the 2024 / 2025 for all of the North American Region (NAR) as well as some islands in the Caribbean (?).

Total cost for the map update (and the unneeded MMI SD card, Shipiping from the UK) was a little over $100. I ordered the kit on Wednesday afternoon and it was delivered Tuesday.

You need to learn the difference between B8 and B9.
