Your posts/pics in this thread as well as Bobby and Bruce's have helped me tremendously to tackle the upgrade to my system. Those sorry excuse for speakers in the B&O were driving me nuts with how horrible they sounded!
We've also seen the Ali express adapters mix up the red and black wires for pin 1 and 2. I myself ordered 2 batches and got both polarities.

Yea....I know.

I've installed the dash center mid and lower A-pillar tweets. The clarity is astounding compared to the stock speakers! The setup is indeed bright. I tried both 4 ohm & 8 ohm for the dash mid. I think 4 ohm is better to keep the sound balanced with the ND25 tweeters. I'm using 8uF caps for the tweeters, but I'll swap 4.7uF later to try out. Dropping the treble adjustment helps. I figure the brightness will be better offset once I swap out the muddy woofers in the doors.

I didn't want to damage any of the stock equipment, so I made custom adapter rings for the tweeters. See my post here: A-pillar tweeter mounts

Advice requested for the front door speakers:

- 4FE32 for the mids. Should I use 4 ohm or 8 ohm?
I figure the 8 ohm doors will push the soundstage forward to the 4 ohm dash center, while the 4 ohm doors will keep the soundstage right over the driver?

- The AC165s are backordered through November. Should I . . .

AC-180 are in stock now
DA DSA175 are in stock now
wait for the AC165s

Hi,

I run the BässerBox with an JL 10W1v3-4 subwoofer. This JL subwoofer actually needs 25 liters of volume, the BässerBox has only 15 liters.
Are there subwoofers that are more suitable?

Thanxs

Where are you reading that the 10W1v3 needs 25L. Its specifications state a 15L sealed enclosure. Also why not use the 10W1v3-2 which will be easier to drive with a smaller class D amp.

It is a recommendation on hifitest ...

"In 25 liters, the JL runs perfectly with a low built-in resonance of 41 Hz at a Q of 0.7."

JL state that it' works best with a 15L sealed and 25L ported enclosure.

Thanx so far.

Inside the enclosure is a kind of nap foam - good or not?

eh where did that come from. It's certainly not in the enclosure when you buy it new. But I know a lot of people who put a poly fill inside. So I guess it might be OK to leave that in.

Sealed boxes almost always have generous amounts of stuffing to control reflections. If the bass feels boomy, add more stuffing. If it sounds dull and dead, take some out.
