If you really want a CD player you could get one and hook it up with an Aux cable maybe? I can't remember if the A5 has an Aux since I always use bluetooth. But honestly you might just want to use a computer to rip the CDs and then play them off the SD card slot or your phone.

MIB3 eliminated all manner of input except the USB port and Bluetooth streaming. 3.5mm AUX input is no longer possible. There is a USB 2.0 DVD player that existed for MIB2 and for MIB3, sits in the glove box. But it's only available on the larger vehicles (A6,A7,A8, maybe Q7/Q8), where the glove box insert to hold it exists: https://www.ebay.com/itm/354159555950 But I guess you could sit it somewhere and just run the cable, assuming the B9 version of the J794 will acknowledge it. Unclear the correct p/n for the cable. Appears to be an HSD blue to HSD+2 black cable.

I've long since ripped all my CDs to FLAC and then created tagged MP3s from that and have them on a large USB stick. Maybe 10 of them at a time over the years. Much easier than dealing with discs.

If you really have to have an optical player, it appears that units with a USB plug exist these days. But as for compatibility, who knows. One guy said this one worked for him:
Amazon Amazon
But you have to control playback on the player I assume. I think I'd bother instead to mount the factory player.

This is the way. Rip your music to a lossless format like FLAC (or if you're a heathen MP3) and enjoy it across devices, platforms and vehicles without the need for physical media. You can even put cover art on your music.
