Default All seasons for limited winter driving

My 2019 A5 came with these https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...l=Potenza+S001. I want to permanently swap them for high-performance all seasons. The vehicle sees limited winter driving, and winter is not exactly extreme here to begin with. I've been recommended to get https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...Contact+DWS+06. Any other recommendations or votes for/against the these Continentals?

The DWS06 and the Michelin A/S 3+ are the two popular choices. I think the DWS is probably going to be a bit better in the snow and the Michelin offering better all around (non-snow) performance.

There's also a new class referred to as "all-weather" tires. Maybe 8 - 10 choices available today.

When it comes time for me to replace the summer tires on my new Audi, I myself am leaning towards the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+. The DWS 06 are my second choice right now. I also noticed that Goodyear has a new Eagle Exhilarate series. I'll likely have to re-eval everything closer to purchase time.

The DWS get decent marks for winter handling - but keep in mind - that handling won't last as the tire starts to wear. Probably more so on the DWS than other AS tires in that category. Unfortunately nobody does comparison tests on tires that are about halfway through their life expectancy.

That’s a good point, but a shame for a (theoretical) tire that would have those properties. Then again, it might lengthen the time before someone replaces their perceived “wearing out tire.”

I have the A/S 3+ now (granted not on an A5), and I'm very happy. They did fine in the limited snow we saw here last winter (southern NJ).
I'm in the midst of working a deal on an A5 and will be swapping to the Michelin's almost immediately.

I recently switched out summer performance tires for Michelin pilot sport a/s 3+. Ive already driven thru about 3 decent snowfalls here in Milwaukee. Granted, they’re pretty much brand new, but the tires handle really good. No regrets in buying them. I also created a previous post asking about the same question and most people recommended the Michelin a/s 3+ or the continentals

Reading through reviews and some of the feedback here of both tires, I'm leaning towards the Michelins. I'll probably go with those.

Do not even second guess yourself. Michelin is killing it right now and they are making the best tires for any condition.

I had the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 (not the +) and after the first snow, I immediately replaced them with the DWS 06. Hopefully, they improved the A/S 3+ because the previous version was almost unusable on the snow.
