what I didn't understand was why the supercharged engines also said 3.0T. Shouldn't it have been 3.0S? How do you say supercharged in german?

I think there were enough people confused by the T that you could swap the 3.0T / V6T badge with a "Supercharged" badge as a port installed option. At least in the US market.

It wasn't confusion, just a marketing fail on Audi's part. They started putting 3.0T because they figured people would think it's better than "2.0T", but then enough people who surprisingly knew the difference between a turbo and a supercharger complained and they changed the badge to "Supercharged".

The amusing thing is that Germans like to debage everything - it’s very common to see very high end cars completely stripped of their shouty status medallions.
In DE one even has an option to order the car without badges from the factory. I tried to do this since I ordered my A5SB when I was living in Stuttgart, but it wasn’t an option for a US spec car.
