You may want to let Mercedes and BMW know re the definition as they both sell 4 door vehicles called coupe ("BMW Gran coupe", "Mercedes CLS class coupe").

The Sport diff is pretty important in my mind. You will enjoying driving the car more in a spirited way and you will do better on future re-sale having it.

Yes, I am aware that Mercedes and BMW both sell 4-door cars that they call coupes. And yes, I also looked up the definitions of coupe and sedan in the dictionary and am aware that, by definition, there is some interchangeability in the terms.

You will notice in my earlier post that I said "by conventional definition, a coupe has 2 doors and a sedan has 4 doors". When I said conventional definition I meant that there is general agreement on or acceptance of those terms. I would imagine that if you walked into 100 car dealerships and asked the SA to show you a mid-sized sedan, you would probably be directed to a car with 4 doors 100 times ... the same would apply to coupes.
