starting car
hi all,
i just got a '12 s5 cab this week and had a silly question. when starting the car, is it normal that the tach and speedometer needle go all the way to the right/max reading (not sure if i'm explaining this correctly).
i also have a '10 a4 and it does not do this, so, was not sure if this was something different/new for the s5.
thanks.

Yes, my new 2011 A5 does this as well. It's known as needle sweep.
I believe the older Audis (don't know what year(s) specifically) didn't do this as some people have to enable it through VAG-COM.

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that all A5s before 2011 don't do this. My 2010 A5 does the needle sweep. Perhaps you have not noticed that there are different specs for 'the same' vehicle in different sales regions. Maybe all of you here are coincidentally in the same region.
