With the C63 AMG having that much power not having a LSD would be a deal breaker for me

Mercedes copies everything from everyone else... nothing original on the C series

Default the 63K is an estimate by C&D

based on the numbers of the C350 it'll likely be a bit more than that. by the time you add some decent options it'll be close to 70K. the most i can see an S5 costing is 60K, fully loaded.

you couldn't pay me 10K to drive an automatic car. but that is just me.

Default There was another article which quoted MB execs stating $63k was the target base

Granted, that doesn't say what options would be included in that $63k. The performance package w/LSD is typically a $7-$8k option (which is why I could go without). I'm guessing the other packages (nav, etc.) would mirror the SLK and wouldn't come standard as they do on the S63 (gotta get something extra for that $130k). I think it's reasonable to expect $65k before gas guzzler.

Default LSD should be standard in a RWD performance car with that much power

sounds like they left it out of the base model so they could make the car cheaper

Default Not a cost saving...they leave it out of almost all of their models

It's even part of a $14 package on their SL55 (a $130k car) - dumb to you and I, for sure, but I don't think we're their target audience

Default One wheel burnouts... interesting. Like the 335 - 1970s style...

That's just cheap.

I find the built-in eyebrow of the new C's headlight fugly to the point of being a deal-breaker.
