Ouch! Time for a radar detector. I have ordered one Escort 9500ix for my next long trip. I hope it will save me a ticket.

FWIW, I was in the same position. No RS5 to test drive, so I drove an S5 and ordered an RS5 sight unseen for delivery in Germany. Haven't regretted it one bit. The S5 was nice, but the moment I opened up the RS5 on the Autobahn, I knew I made the right decision. However, if you are that concerned with comfort, an S5 with adjustable suspension might be more down your alley.

I was replacing my 2007 A4 daily driver and looking for something a little more sporty and fun. I looked at the Panamera, C63AMG, BMW M3, Jag XF, Cadillac CTSV, and S4. The lines and look for the S5 coupe looked th ebest in my oppinion and the quality and technology of the Audi interior beat the other cars I was looking at. I was already happy with my A4 and had no service issues in 77K miles so it was an easy decision for me to stay with Audi. I debated between S5 and RS% and decided to save the $20k and go S5 and get APR tune.

The rs5 drives much better than the s5. Audi does something special with the rs models. And there's no tune that can replace the thunder of the v8 motor and exhaust.

You would think the rs5 would be a much harsher ride. But I liked the rs5s ride quality with the 20s better than the s5s 19's.

63k for a loaded s5 vs 76-77 for an rs.

You'll never regret spending the extra money on the rs.
