Default RS5 Delivery Mileage

Just got my RS5 couple of weeks ago and I am curious on how many miles your RS5 had on it at time of delivery. Mine had 42 miles, that seems high to me, and I have begun to question if the dealer was driving my car before I picked it up. The dealer is telling me that the RS cars are driven from the factory on a test drive before they are ship loaded and supposedly that is the reason for the higher than normal mileage. Opinions? Thanks in advance guys.

I don't have mine yet, but that is normal from what I understand. Yes, the RS/R cars are tested on the track before delivered/shipped to the customer. They seem to come with around 40-60 miles. Inspires confidence that Audi is making sure that everything sits right on these cars.

Enjoy the Car! Don't sweat the small stuff. This IMO opinion is small stuff.
No, I don't have an RS5, I have an S5 and 42 miles at delivery would not have made any difference to me.

My RS5 had 43 miles on it, and my RS4 had about 50. From what I've heard, the RS (& R8) get much more factory testing than the A & S models. It is not unusual to get an A or S model with less than 10 miles on the clock. My 2012 S4 had 14 miles on it I think.

I think mine had about 25 miles or so. Salesman told me that the service guy let him drive it to fill up the gas tank, so it would have had less than that from the factory. Not sure about the RS cars, but I do know the R8's often have 50-60 miles from the factory. I wouldn't sweat it since it's not a manual. These cars need to be driven hard right away anyhow. Enjoy the car. Congrats!

My S5 had 8 miles, so they probably did a 7 mile run at Audi and the dealer put 1 mile to put gas. But I'm glad I did the test run at 100-105 MPH before it hit 40 miles on the odometer ..haha.

They usually show up at the dealership with 20 to 40 miles depending on how much they have been moved during delivery to the dealer. Also a test drive is performed during the pre delivery inspection done at the dealership to make sure everything is working properly before the vehicle is given to the customer.

Don't worry OP. Dealer is telling the truth. They are test driven by factory.
