Default Recommendation for replacing A5 2009 driver side HID head lamp

Hey guys-- I've been looking around on the Internet to see if it's better to take the car to the shop to have it replaced or trying to replace it on my own. I came across a video that demonstrated how to replace the headlight but it involves removing a lot of the assembly around the bumper.

What's the average cost for the bulb? Should I replace the single bulb or replace both driver side/passenger side lamps at the same time?

What's the average cost if I take it into the dealer?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks guys

Although I haven't removed mine yet, from what I read, removing the whole light unit is fairly easy and removing the bulb is even easier still once removed. That would be from bulb changing threads on the Audizine forum.
As far as replacing the other bulb - good plan. There's a finite life (hours rating) for the xenon bulbs. I assume you'll be replacing with another set of Philips D3S bulbs?

I did this job on my 2001 A4 B5. At the time, 7 yrs ago my dealer wanted $400, and suggested i get both done, because other will be going soon too. $800. I was mad, researched it out. I bought 2 lights on Ebay for $70 and some tools at Pepboys $20. Removed the wheel well lining, and front bumper ( 2 screws next to license plate ( check for parking and air bag sensor , unplug before pulling bumper off ( you may not even have to pull entire bumper off, just the side that needs bulb replacing , you just need exposure to the 2 headlight screw, and be able to pull headlight out )) . Its such a super easy job. Once you do it, you could prob do it over in 20 mins. Good luck and def go for it.
