Default Not feeling good about the S5 pricing....

With used RS4s with LOW mileage now in the $65's, and its looking like the S5 (out the door) is looking like $60, its gonna be hard to justify the S5.

I know this is premature, but I'm not feeling good about the pricing at all.

Default you're right but...

The RS 4 basically looks like every other A4, S4 out there. Unless you're a member of this forum.

The A4 platform will change next year and your car will look outdated.

The S5 will be a very rare car. At least for a few months.

It looks much better than the RS 4, a low GT coupe will always beat any sedan on this side of the maserati sedan.

You'll have a new car, outfitted with any option you want, any color combo you want, with maybe 20 miles on the clock when you hold the keys.

It's still fast.

Resale value will hold well.

Better mileage, cheaper insurance.

I thought about an RS 4 also, quickly decided it was a bad idea.

What kind of RS 4 driver treats that car nicely when they're selling it?

Actually, get your RS 4.. I'm holding out for the '5.

I'll take the new M3 for that price. Audi messed up if it starts at 60.

Default the S5 will have some things you can't get in the RS4, though.

the B&O stereo...2-tone interior (we can get it in the RS4, but it's special order and $$$), etc.

i think the S5 will be closer to $65k loaded.

Default 60K out the door for a S5? Sure, with no options.

Consider that multiple magazines all have the S5 at 55K Base, then factor in Destination and Gas Guzzler (that will be over 2K) and the S5 will really start, with out a single option...at 58K or so.

Trust me, I was one of the ones that held on to the HOPE that it would be 50K Base for a long while....and with it being my first V8 that I was considering, I didnt even think about the 2K gas guzzler....then more and more Mags started suggesting from multiple sources, 45K for an A5 and 55K for an S5 BASE....I knew that hope was going down the drain...and have since moved in another direction.....the true base of the S5 will be around 58K before options....about 8K more then what I decided on and spent.....on this VVVVVVVVVV

Default The True Base wont be over 60...but if you put any options on it...I am sure it will be....

oh and that 58K True base...not taking into consideration sales tax as well obviously.
