Default New 2013 A5 Cabrio owner

Greetings!

I am now the proud owner of a CPO 2013 A5 Cabriolet. I'm very pleased so far (10 days) and it seems I'm finding some other setting or switch every time I drive the car.

Living in NJ, enjoying top down driving most of the year. This is the nicest convertible that I've had. Most recently coming out of a 2004 Bug, almost 200k miles and still managed to sell it.

Big NY Football Giants fan. Yes, it's another blue car as well.

Hello,
Please post some pictures and details. I'm interested as I'm looking for an A5 Cabriolet myself.

Trying to decide if going new (2016/2017) or CPO like you did and finding a nice clean, well taken care of vehicle.

Hi A007,

Just a quick snap a couple days ago. Just 'rinsed' at the dealers prior.

I'll see if I can get a couple better pics in the sunlight. So far I've been teasing my FB friends with partial and low light shots.

Distance driveway shot the day after purchase.

2013 CPO A5 Prem Plus. Was looking for under $35k and under 35k miles. Found one well equipped and in blue in PA. Did a lot of looking around (online) for a couple weeks after taking a few new and CPOs out for test drives. There were some better deals, that were simply sold before we were ready to pull the trigger, but I'm happy with what we paid and what we got.

I had '10 and '11 S5 Cabs and I found them to be much better than hardtop convertibles because the top goes down/up quickly, even while driving, and there is still a decent amount of space in the trunk with the top down. Also, you can truly fit 4 people in the car (but it is tight). We are planning on trading our G37 Vert for another S5 Cab when our lease is up. They are great cars. I know you are enjoying it!

Great choice. I bought a 2013 S5 prestige last year and the smile stills stays on my face every time I drive. Also in NJ (Princeton area) and happy to see the weather finally getting warm, but that means my wife and I will battle for who drives it now...

Enjoy!

Thank you. I do too. Got a few nice days this past week, and I'm hoping the weather holds a few more weeks FWIW, I'm seeing a lot more Audis in Jersey (Ocean, Middlesex, Monmouth counties).

Ahhh the S5. I'd probably have a couple of tickets with more engine

Coming out of the beetle, I'm short trunk space. I am thinking that I should just put the back seats down (never getting 4 in my car) and leave the windscreen up all the time! You are right

Thanks. I almost went to check out a prestige... but it wasn't at a dealer and wasn't CPO. The S5 engine would make me happy until the tickets started rolling in.

Yeah, I can see that rolling up Witherspoon. I can also see it diving into curves along 206.

As much as my wife loves the color, her cars are always the red ones.

You might want to get urself an Escort Passport Radar just in case. Its not so much for speeding down the highway, but more for knowing where the cop is, usually hiding behind a bush on a 50mph road that suddenly switches to a 25mph zone because ur passing an abandoned church or school, then flips back to 50mph again. After getting pulled over on Canal Road, Princeton, I knew I needed one. Another S5 driver on this site recommended the passport, my best purchase i should have invested in 20yrs ago.

Thanks. I used to use Waze, the social driving/traffic/cop app. But I don't yet have a phone mount and it's not perfect. I do have a mini-badge to prevent stops for annoying things, but it won't stop reckless

Might look into an interior mount device. A friend was talking about one, I'll follow up with him.

Let's talk tinting 28% all around? Just rear window and rear passenger windows? How are your local cops with it? I think I might get a pass with the right attitude, but would hate to spend the money and then have to remove it, as I do drive the same areas over and over. Local to home, work and cigar shop cops would notice multiple times per week. If you don't mind, what did you pay? I know a guy that works out of EB (independent, but does great work), but haven't checked his prices. Will probably have him quote me a few jobs, including protective wrap. For now, I'm getting it car wash waxed at least once per week (monthly pass) and it worked to keep my old beetle looking new.

TIA
