Default BMW plans to sell 100k M3's. With that projection, Winding Road might be right...

It will probably come bone stock when compared to the S5/RS5 though...

But I agree. Audi better price the S5 in the low 50's (10k below M3) and I think they will. RS5 will be made to destroy the M3 and future CSL. That will be the true monster when it comes out.

Default Is that over the entire run? Seems ambitious IMO...

that's kinda a niche market car, isn't it?

Default especially ambitious when a chipped 335i is faster and a lot cheaper

not to mention it will be easier to live with as a daily driver and it will get much better gas mileage, which has become a bigger factor.

Default That remains my one reservation about the S5... it's a thirsty beasty...

now if they make a "S" or "RS" TT that is a small displacement and turbo-charged engine and more fuel efficient, I'd probably go for that, even though I like the looks of the A/S5 better... any troglodyte can achieve power through increasingly larger displacements... I want a tight, small, high-output engine with some clever plumbing and relatively good fuel efficiency... like my 225 TT had... nice!

Default Yes, that's for the entire production life of the E90/92/93 M3.

They made 84k E46 M3's so I think if they price it right, they shouldn't have a problem.

Default I would jump, leap even, at the TDi engine, were it available here...

that's the problem with having a social/environmental conscience but still liking cars... :-p
