BMW plans to sell 100k M3's. With that projection, Winding Road might be right...
It will probably come bone stock when compared to the S5/RS5 though...
But I agree. Audi better price the S5 in the low 50's (10k below M3) and I think they will. RS5 will be made to destroy the M3 and future CSL. That will be the true monster when it comes out.

especially ambitious when a chipped 335i is faster and a lot cheaper
not to mention it will be easier to live with as a daily driver and it will get much better gas mileage, which has become a bigger factor.

That remains my one reservation about the S5... it's a thirsty beasty...
now if they make a "S" or "RS" TT that is a small displacement and turbo-charged engine and more fuel efficient, I'd probably go for that, even though I like the looks of the A/S5 better... any troglodyte can achieve power through increasingly larger displacements... I want a tight, small, high-output engine with some clever plumbing and relatively good fuel efficiency... like my 225 TT had... nice!
