Headlight/LED Question
My A5 is finally on the way. I didn't get the premium or tech package (I know, should have)so I assume I won't get the LED daytime running lights. My question is, Can the standard headlamp assembly be replaced with one that has the LEDs. Would it require rewiring? Thanks to anyone who can answer.

I don't think so....
I think they are part of the technology package, along with the adaptable headlights. The S-line gives you headlight washers, but I don't think you get the LED's automatically.
I don't know if they would work, but perhaps you could get some of the E-code headlight units.

LEDs are part of premium. That's the whole appeal of the car. And the short answer would be
You would have spent less to get the premium package than retro fit them. If the A5 is anything like other Audis you'll drop two grand pretty easily. The premium package is less than that.

just answer his freaking question!
sheesh, instead of bickering about what package it's part of, just answer the man's question!
yes, it can be retrofitted, and will require some wiring. you will have to replace the whole headlamp unit. you can either have your dealer do it for some ridiculous labor charge, or you can do it yourself with the various DIYs posted on this forum and others. good news is if the amber bothers you in the headlamps, (I can't stand it myself), you can get the euro-spec headlamps that have clear corners. I think they run ~$1200 for the pair.
