got my a5 yesterday!!!!!!! Tint question.....
I got my 08 A5, Ibis White, Loaded with every option.
I am going to get it tinted and was told by the tint guy that the A5 needs to have its computer taken out to put tint in because it is located below the back window and one drop of water can ruin it. He said he was trained by audi to do and is charging 325 for the rear window and all 4 side windows. Is this true? Is this a good deal?
Anyone tint theres? If so how much and did u run into this.
PS. This is a phone pic, more to come.....

Average deal. Personally I wouldn't trust just anyone from pulling out your B&O amp, Nav,
and Sirius interface. There are optical harnesses present and the last thing that you want is to have them pinch a cable or worse.
It's not necessary for them to pull everything out. It is necessary for them to exercise care by covering the electronics completely with plastic, and maybe some towels to soak up additional excess water flow.
The main problem is that the excess water that these tint guys use is not properly controlled and the angle of the window and air vent on the B&O amp place them in a direct path.
Here are some pics of my experience that took many months to resolve. Finally resolved about a week ago.

I brought a plastic bag and a bath towel
and told the tinter that water gets in this area and to make sure he used them to cover the electronics. Had no issues the towel got a little wet but nothing major and no damage.

Yes that is true, early on in production the window tinters where damaging the amps for the B&O Systems. From water sliding down the window to the equipment. But ive seen it done without the amps you might not wanna take the risk.
