I have a question, i'm looking for a used or new audi S5. I was wondering what are the differences between each year. My biggest concern is the navigation system differences.

2010 was the first year that the 3G MMI was made available for the S5, which includes the hard drive-based navigation system and dual SD slots. 2010 was also the first year with the Sports Rear Differential option, if I remember correctly.

I can't remember what the other differences are between the 2010 and earlier model years.

2010 also included the introduction of LED rear lights.

2008 models have electric folding side mirrors. Audi side assist was a late introduction as a separate option in the 2008 model year. It became part of the tech package in 2009.

The differences in the MMI system are truly substantial. The GPS system is hugely improved both in appearance and effectiveness. The graphics/colors are better to read and there's now very timely traffic conditions (sometimes faster than my iPhone). The one downside is that in urban areas the MMI doesn't label streets very well compared to MMI in my 2008. Also, in my new car there's quite a bit more in terms of menus on the MMI. An entire new section pointing out the efficiency of the car. Strangely, my new car seems to be returning better mileage than my old car.

My 2008 as well as my 2011 had/have all options and the Drive Select in the 2010+ its nice to have but I probably wouldn't spend the money a second time. I would get the sports diff, though.

2010+ mirrors are better looking, though slightly smaller.

you had a 6mt in the 08. What tranny is in your 11? That could be the biggest difference in your mileage.....
