Default Audi A5 manual trans anyone?

Hello everyone,

I am considering buying a manual transmission audi a5. I am wondering, for those who own a manual trans a5, what has your experience been like? Any experiences, wisdom, or stories you can share?

Thank you

I like my manual A5...added a 034 trans mount and it shifts even better than stock. The clutch effort is not overly heavy but the throws on the shifter could be touch shorter IMO. There is an aftermarket short throw shifter kit that I might try if the price comes down a bit.

Like any manual trans car driving in heavy traffic's not particularly fun and depending on how much you might do on a regular basis could make an automatic more pleasant.

I am also considering a manual tranny A5 for the replacement of my A4 later this year. There are a few out there. I'm blessed with a pleasant commute to work and being a manual transmission fan this will be my choice.

i love the manual on my 2013 S5, crisp shifts and smooth action. the clutch is pretty easy as well and driving in traffic doesn't bother me one bit.

Only had mine for about 4 months, but love it. I am one of those that simply prefers 3 pedals.

Not exclusive to manual transmission but it makes driving on hills on a manual transmission effortless..

My 2012 A5 is my first Audi, too. The clutch is not much different than VW clutches on MK4 & MK6 Golf TDIs, but those are all front wheel drive. The only other manual AWD I had driven was a late 80's BMW 325ix, with a very heavy clutch, and this Audi's is very easy by comparison.
