Default Anyone know how many RS5's will be produced?

My assumption is that the current iteration of the RS5 will be offerered for 2013 - 2015 model years??? Anyone know how many are being imported?

I've heard anywhere from 250 - 1,500 with no sense as to whether that's total or per year.

Anyone have an update? Just curious.

Thanks!
Mike

I am not sure if there will be 2015 RS5 at all..since the new B9 platform is due for 2015 starting with A5 release...I've been told from Audi rep at the autoshow back in the spring of 2012 that they will import 750 a year for 2 years which is total of 1500. Not sure if this includes cabrio's or not..

For example TT-RS started from summer/fall 2011 till fall of this year. I think the lifespan of the RS5 will be the same with total of 2 years. Started summer of 2012 ending summer/fall 2014..

Thanks for the reply. The 1,500 number is the one I've seen the most.

I keep seeing mixed info on the 2015 A5/S5. I can't tell if the 2015 Model year or the 2016 Model year will be on the new B9 platform. Anyone know for sure?

Given that the mid-cycle facelift came with the '13 MY, the B9 should be a '16 model starting in fall of 2015.

I was told by my Audi dealer that 2014 is the last model year for the current RS5.

Thanks for the quick response. Now the gut check of do I get the last production year of the B8 line or wait and get a year 1 of the B9 line.

That depends on how long you want to wait. The first B8 A/S5 model year was 2008. The RS5 didn't come out until MY2010 in Europe and MY2013 in the US, so I would say expect the B9 RS5 to be a MY2018 the earliest.

I don't know how many there will be, but I'm happy to have just taken delivery of my '14 RS5 yesterday. Prism silver with titanium wheels and every option. My dealer told me they sell more R8 vehicles than RS5's, although they only sell about 7 R8's per year.
