A5 3.2 liter V6 -- Engine Remap/HP Increase Mods??
After scouring the various Audi forums, I am surprised to see so little on any ECU remaps/other mods to get more horsepower out of the 3.2L V6 A5. I really was expecting a lot more, including some widespread ECU/remap stuff that gets us serious HP gains.
Am I missing something here? I know you can get a Stasis exhaust and get 10-15HP gains out of that, but I was looking for something more substantial. I read here that MTM is getting a 97HP boost out of a 3 liter V6 in the S4 with nothing more than an ECU remap.
Is there something about this new 3.2L engine that's different and tougher to get more performance out of? Is it just that it's too new, and mod companies are still working on this?
If I could pay a grand for an extra 50hp, this would be a no-brainer for me.
Thanks.

Exactly the new S4 has a supercharger, hence more tuning capability. You can turn up the boost and thus get more power. The 3.2 V6 has not been a popular motor for tuning. Extracting big gains from a NA engine just doesn't happen with ECU remapping. Look at V8 tuning. There's usually a lot of bolt on mods involved, then things like cams, etc. I'm sure you could drop a grand and get someone to do a custom tune. Farnbacher Loles could probably do that for you. http://www.farnbacherloles.com/index_street.htm
I doubt you'd get more than 25-30hp though. There's just nothing out there.

You might check with PES Tuning (www.pes-tuning.com). They've done supercharger kits for the V6's in the past. I know they just released a new kit for the 4.2 V8, but haven't seen anything on their site for the 3.2 V6. You could email and ask if they have anything in the works, but since the 3.2 is being phased out they might be thinking it's not worth the R&D money. Their ECU upgrade for the 3.2 gives 15 HP and 17 torque gains.
This is the main reason I wasn't as interested in the 3.2L engine, and waited for the 2.0 TFSI. APR is getting 333 ft-lbs torque from the 2.0 A4 ($600 software tune, great value), and they'll be tuning the A5 2.0 as well when it hits later this month.

Has any one had their ECU on the A5 3.2 upgraded. Was wondering if you actaully notice any difference with the 15 HP and 17 torque gains? Also if you experience any other benefits such as a increase in MPG?

So if you did the remap above (+15HP) along with a stasis exhaust and upgraded air filter (around another 15HP), is the thinking that you can get near 300HP?

stock the engine is pushing 265 but your only getting about 220 at the wheels in a quattro. even adding 15 with the remap, and another 20-30 with air filter and exhaust your only really getting back to about the factory 265 rating.

If it helps.. the A5 3.2 engine don't need extra boost! It's got plenty of power even with the tiptronic on sequencial/manual mode. I have clocked my 3.2 at 5.8sec 0-60pm on manual mode and to me that's VERY impressive for a heavy set vehicle and 'only 265hp'. I believe this car has far more HP's than announced by Audi. This vehicle is lighting FAST!! there is always the option of an S5 but to be honest.. I've driven both and there isn't any difference between them as far as performance goes.. just the V8 is louder at high rpm's. I suggest you be happy with what you got. This vehicle is about design and style and exclusiveness with enough power to make most happy campers. There are hundreds of bmw's around but only a few A5's and even BMW owners turn their heads when they see an A5 regardless of their superiority or inferiority performance wise so live it up! Otherwise get a Corvette.
My question to you is.. When will performance be enough for you?
