2010 S5 to ditch 4.2 V8 in favor of 3.0T supercharged engine?

of course, the 3.0T is a no brainer over the 3.2
But you aren't saying anything, the 3.0T is like the 3.2 cheaper than the 4.2, gets better gas mileage. He already chose the 3.2 which was cheaper than the 4.2 and gets better gas mileage, so why would he choose anything other than the 3.0T if he had a choice between the 4.2 and 3.0T, the 3.0T is better than the 3.2 definitely and is as good, better than the 4.2 in the S5, I personally like the V8 sound, and the longer legs for that extra speed, as ultimately it's HP that determines speed not torque. Although, they both have the same max torque in the S5's 4.2.

I'd prefer the V8, even if just for the wonderful sound.
I don't really care much about the gas mileage. I think it's actually pretty good, especially compared to my Aston V8. S5 15.5 l/100km, Aston V8 22 l/100km

Agreed...plus the efficiency gains. Easy choice for me now!!!
As my screen name suggests, since the S5/A5 debuted I've been struggling with the choice between the A5 as S5. I love the details of the S5 and the V8 growl, but like my current car I plan on keeping this for 8-10 years...and the S5's efficiency sucks for a daily driver over the next 5-10 years. On the other hand, the A5's power is too low for that price.
For me, this V6 T is having my cake and eating it too. All the performance I love in the S5 & 335i with the efficiency of the A5. My decision is made.
