2009 S5 4.2 starts but shuts off immediately.
I replaced the intake manifold, replaced oil cooler o rings, water pump, belt, tensioner, plugs, coil packs, valley pan gasket, oil filter housing gasket, replaced cracked and missing wire loom, four coil pack connectors, changed oil and antifreeze, replaced high pressure fuel pressure sensor.
It ran before but not good because of the broken flaps inside the manifold. Now it starts but shuts off immediately. If you press the accelerator while cranking it revs a little higher but still shuts off immediately. I have vcds and there are no codes for the engine on the auto scan.
What could I have screwed up or missed? How do I troubleshoot it?
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Steve

Why do you have DTCs in 01-engine saying "there's a fault at 03-brakes", when you have no faults at 03-brakes? Do they clear if you clear DTCs for the ECM?
duration for engine off at 08-hvac. That's probably just fallout from the dying engine. But you might recheck the relays in the ECM box. Check the J271 relay.
Are you doing the scan after the engine dies, before turning off ignition? You don't really need to do a scan, just be connected to 01-engine and click on fault codes after the engine dies.
But it could just be a failure of something mechanical, either air delivery or fuel delivery. The V engines also have all that SAI junk. I don't know if it clogging with carbon is a problem on the CAUA engine.

I'm baffled. Could it be that the battery was disconnected for over a month? May be I mixed up the pin position on a coil connector or an injector connector. All the codes clear and what you see is an auto scan after I attempt to start it. Thanks for your reply. It looks like I'm the only schmuck this has happened to that's on the internet.

I pulled the manifold back off and checked everything I touched and found that I had mixed up the pin on the high pressure fuel sensor. I'll get it back together this week sometime. Also I ordered new cam sensors and speed sensor.
