Personally I've never understood the NEED to EVER punish an engine............ever. But.........if you have that need I would wait till you put on approx. 2,000 mi. It will be worth the wait. Treat that great piece of engineering with TLC.

There are lots of theories about the best break-in proceedure for sports cars, and they have been discussed ad nauseum on various car forums. In my case I typically take it easy for about the first 500 miles, and then will take it to red line but only after the engine has reached normal operating temperature. I've been following this process for many decades, and have had good results: no oil leaks even on my 911s and outstanding straight line performance.

Agree! I started to push hard on my 14 S% after it hits 2K miles.

Indeed a good reference point and at about 100 MPH (2/3 max) it sounds pretty good. I am picking up my car in Germany on August 12th so I have a singularly unique opportunity to drive fast (legally) on the Autobahn. But with the roundtrip to Paris, I should be around 1000 KM on the return. So I can start to push it a bit more on the way back. Once I get back to the states there are very few spots I can open it up.
