Default RS5 Folding Mirrors?

Please excuse me if the answer is obvious, but do the mirrors on the RS5 fold inward, either when locking the doors or using the **** for the adjustments?

Not in the US. The rest of the world has it as an option. It can be retrofitted here in the US, but would cost $$$. Definitely one of those things that puts your mind at slight ease knowing there is a little reduced risk with you car, or more clearance inside a garage.

That said, they still fold in, just not electronically.

Maybe I'm missing the obvious but anyone know why they aren't offered in the US? Seems like a no-brainer to offer it as an option if they already are in the rest of the world.

Profit margins?

I bought the parts myself to install the folding modules into my RS5 here in US. Ran around $800 ugh.

I had read they were not compatible with the side assist option.

You can have them retrofitted with European OEM parts. A well known Europart vendor is having a group buy over on Audizine ( follow link : http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...irror-Packages ) if you are interested.

The folding mirrors fold inwards and upwards. They are a great visual indication that the car is locked as you walk away from it.
