I would only consider doing this on a silver car as otherwise, the contrast might be way over the top, but I am somewhat seriously considering having the "sill blades" painted in the aluminum look paint to match the mirrors.

I may just be having a mid-life crisis here...but you guys tell me, would this be too much?

I think he might mean the door blades - by the rocker panel. Thety are not on the A5 but maybe the S5 has them. My 2008 A4 has door blades. OTOH maybe he means the wipers

Not to make this silly thread any longer than necessary, but yes, this refers to the rocker "blades" below the door sills on the S5.

They also came with the S-line package on the A5.

In that case - I think it would look pretty cool. That's called the "rocker panel" and on the S5, yeah it sticks out a bit. You could call it a blade, I suppose... Silver to match the front and rear diffusors woudl look very nice...
