Default stupid headlight sprayer messes up my hood - can it be disabled?

Every time I go to clean my windshield, the headlight nozzle sprays all over the hood and then leaks up the side of the hood/fender when I drive.

Is there any way to have this disabled either physically or programmatically (VAGCOM)? I avoid cleaning my windshield so I don't get junk all over my clean hood - not a good tradeoff

Default Disconnect, plug the water hose.

I found this out in reverse - my headlight washers weren't working.

Default Yes, turn your headlights off when you wash.

Not perfect, I know, but it helps. I have the same gripe, albeit minor.

Default I was just thinking that, and saw the reply :) Home brew washer fluid recipe below mimics

the original Audi stuff :

Typical washer fluid is about 2/3 water, 1/3 methanol. The yellow Audi stuff is 49% isopropyl alcohol, 16% methanol, and 35% water. So, both are basically alchohol and water, but the Audi stuff replaces most of the methanol with isopropyl alcohol. The blue stuff can foam, bubble and collect around the wiper blades and I've heard it's harder on the paint/plastics/wax. It can collect and clog the headlight washers in extreme cold. The Audi stuff is less likely to foam or otherwise obstruct vision - especially at speed.

Here's a home brew formula:

To make 1 liter of the original fluid you'll need to mix the following:
488 ml Isopropyl Alcohol*
162 ml Methanol*
350 ml Water

It's a concentrate, and you mix it with water according to what
freezing temperature you're willing to put up with.
Mixing it 1:2 with water gets you protection to +2 F.

*use "pure" components. Rubbing alcohol available at your pharmacy is roughtly 20% isopropyl. Chemical supply houses should be able to get you 99.9% pure substances. Isopropyl alcohol is much more hydrophylic and causes water to freeze at a lower temperature than methanol.

*******************

A quick and easy alternative is to get half a liter of typical washer fluid and mix with half a liter of Isopropyl Alcohol to get close to the Audi yellow stuff. It's not exact, but pretty close.
