The coolant reservoir in my 2014 S5 is placing very close the exhaust pipe although it has a metal shield to deflect the heat from the exhaust. Normally, in most cars, the reservoir is placed far away from the main heat source of the engine to prevent it from cracking over time.
Does anyone have had cracking coolant reservoir on the Audi? And at what mileage or years the reservoir cracked.

Funny you ask because, every time i turn off my car in the garage, i can smell coolant around that area for about 5min or so. I don't know if it's because the fans are running after the car is off for about 1min or so... or maybe there's something going on around the reservoir...

Next time i'm at the dealer, i'll have them take a look. I don't see any leaks or anything, but i sure can smell coolant.
