My friend has the S4 and swears by it.
He's telling me that sitting in the S5 is uncomfortable because your down low and the whole two door inconvenience etc;
Hey folks please give me the advantages and disadvantages between the S5 and the S4.
Thanks !!!!

Well, the S5 being a coupe is more sporty and as most coupes, it looks much better than its sedan counterpart. It's lower and has a wider track, so it handles better. Wider track = more grip when cornering and lower means lower center of gravity, so less roll and better handling as well. It's harder to get in and out of the coupe obviously, but once in, there's nothing inherently less comfortable. There is less headroom due to the lower sloped roof line, so if you are a tall fellow you may need the additional headroom a sedan provides. Also the doors are longer, so it can be tough to get in and out in narrow spaces.

The S4 being a sedan is obviously more practical if you have a need to haul people around. 4 doors makes it easier for the rear passengers and there is more legroom in the rear. Front doors are shorter, so it is easier to get in and out in narrow spaces.

At the end of the day it comes down to this. You are either in the market for a sport sedan, because you need the practicality and room it provides or you are in the market for a sport coupe, because you want something that looks and feels more sporty and you are not in the business of hauling more than one passenger most of the time.

Practicality aside. 4 doors vs. 2 doors.

Ask yourself, when having parked the car, will you glance back at it once or twice?

With the RS5/S5, you will do just that.

If you are going to haul more than one passenger...get the S4. If not get the S5 or the RS5. Please note there is no longer an RS4 in the US.

I have a '14 S4 and have ordered a '15 RS5 to replace the Outback.

Personally I love convertibles but not with back seats. My pick would be the v10 R8. But alas I already have two roadsters.

Best

the look of the S5 trumps any concerns you will have. the driving position is great and getting kids in the back seats is pretty easy. adults, not so much but that's a rarity for me. I traded in an A4 for the S5 simply for the looks. The s5 is a beatiful car.

That's a tough choice. Choosing between a sporty coupe and a fast sedan. Can't go wrong with either. I would say go for whatever feels the best for you at your price point. Cars come and go. You can always trade in for the other one down the road.
