Default ~2008 s5 owners, manual vs automatic. Having my doubts on manual.

Ok, so i'm looking for an s5. I was pretty sure i'd go for a manual, but all those clutch horror stories have made me really doubt about it. It seems that manual is a very bad choise when car is out of warranty. What i've read is that it breaks down pretty much every 50k and costs thousands to fix. Sadly it's alot harder to find an automatic here...

Can someone give me maybe some info about their experience with s5 manual transmission around 2008 year models.

Do not have 2008. I have a 2012 S5 6MT with 12,000 miles. The shifting action and clutch engagement are good and satisfying.

Go for the manual! It is much more involving and satisfying when driving, and less problems if you drive normally.

Also in a few years, when no more Manual will be available, it will be much looked for, so good for price when trading in!
