Default Owner/Service Manuals

Strangely, there's been a Navarra Blue RS5 SB sitting in my garage for a few weeks that I really haven't had a chance to dig into...

Are paper owner's manuals a thing of the past?
I found the online version of the owner's manual, and I know there is one in the car MMI, but is there a way to obtain a PDF?

Being my first Audi... what is the goto field service manual that all you wrenches are using?

Check the storage compatment to the left of the steering wheel for the owner’s manual.

Anyone have a preferred service manual recommendation?

You can obtain PDF's of your car's factory manuals through the erWin website (https://erwin.audiusa.com/erwin/showHome.do) . Sign-up for a 24 hour pass for only US$38 (I think, if memory serves me right) and download as much manuals for any Audi model you want or need. Access includes tech bulletins and other technical publications that may be specific to your car.

I did this, and they're not very good. They cover too many cars, and nothing specific to the S5. The dealer's online manuals are keyed to the car's VIN number and probably have much more current data.
Also, the manual PDF's have an annoying feature that sends you to a bunch of "don't do anything stupid" warnings whenever you open one. You can avoid this by going into Acrobat reader Preferences, Javascript, and unchecking "Enable Acrobat Javascript" No more forced warnings, but you get a yellow warning bar across the top that you can either ignore or clear with one click
