Default MMI Issue

My MMI recently went into permanent mute mode and I took it to a shop and they told me that it was the amp. So I purchased a new amp with them and they installed it and that didnt resolve anything, the issue still persisted. They inspected again and said that it was the mmi control module that was faulty. Does anyone have any experience with the mmi not playing any sound? I have a 2009 audi a5 b8. Ive paid about $600 trying to fix the mmi and no luck and now the shop wants $1200 to fix the control module. If it is the mmi control module, can I just install it myself or does it have to be coded in? These are the codes that the shop sent me. Any additional information would help tremendously.

If you have an MY08 or MY09 and you have navigation, then you have MMI 2G. So different module configuration vs MMI 3G (MY10+), but the basic concepts of the MOST optical ring is unchanged. If anything on the ring is having an issue, it takes the ring down.

But that's the first issue. Was MMI fully down? Or was it working, just no sound? I had water from a sunroof drain get into the amp. It stopped working for a while, but the rest of the MMI system was functional. Could browse the radio stations, etc. Just no sound. Then it started working again. Then another heavy rain took the amp out entirely. MMI was completely down until I bypassed the amp with a MOST optical ring bypass plug (Amazon, $10).

So the question is what's the actual operating state of your MMI installation? Is no sound the only exhibit of an issue? If so, you have confirmed this from multiple sources? FM from radio unit, CD from cd changer, something from AMI?

The current status of my mmi installation is that its fully functional just no sound. I have access to navigation, radio, and all the menu items it just doesn’t have any sound. I’ve read on forums that a low battery can sometimes mess with the electronics on the vehicle, so im going to be testing that soon, as well as the fuses, just to make sure everything else is working properly.
Any suggestions?

So you're saying they replaced the amp and it's still not working? Component protection was reset? What are the specific, currernt DTCs from the J525 (amp), at 47-sound system? If the system is functional, the amp side managing the MOST membership is working. So it has power, it is working, to an extent. But can the diag tool interact with it.
