My key fob batteries die every 3 to 4 weeks in both key fobs. Audi acknowledges there is a problem.

I'm still on the original battery since I got my car 8 months ago. I do have the convenience feature of the key turned off so the doors won't unlock when I touch the handle. I have to press the buttons on the fob. Not sure if that helps but I'm sure there are a lot of people that would be screaming if their fobs were dying every 3-4 weeks.

Considering the cost, change the battery annually.

Almost 2 years on mine. I keep the battery removed from the spare fob, and the auto-unlock feature on the car is turned off to prevent relay thefts, but that shouldn't matter, since the car communicates with the fob only when the door handle is touched.
Since I had several new 2032's on my desk, I just changed it now, to avoid a failure
