3.0L TFSI SC Oil
Hello All,
New Audi S5 owner here. I just bought a 2011 Cabriolet with the 3.0L TFSI Supercharged engine.
I noticed on the last service from the dealer they used an Audi spec 504 oil (Veedol Sintron Longlife III 5W-30). I have read through the recommendations in the manual and it says use a 502 spec oil (5W-40). My question is, do I need to do an oil change right away to put the proper oil in or can I drive it a few thousand miles/Km and be safe? I need to drive it about 1500Km next week. I pick up the car Monday and then have to drive it home (700Km), then to my brothers place Tuesday (450Km round trip), then to the mechanic for out of province inspection (400Km round trip). I'll do an oil change to proper 5W-40 502 spec oil on Thursday.
Is this safe or do I need a 502 spec 5W-40 oil?
Thanks

Interested to hear recommendations on oil type as well. Just picked up a 2011 Cab about a month ago as well. Love the car! Mine came with a few goodies installed so not sure how the stock compares but it hauls. It does love the gas station though.

Thanks J. Patterson. I am aware of the specifications for the different oil and what is spec'd for the engine. Was just curious if putting a 504 spec would do damage in 2000Km or if I needed to have the 502 spec. It's all for not as I told the dealer that they put in the wrong oil and they changed it. All good now.
